QYK Storm Center

Tropical Storm Elsa is making it’s way to the west coast of Florida and the Tampa Bay area is getting ready by cancelling all flights from Tampa International Airport.

Beginning this afternoon (7/6) all flights leaving out of the Tampa International Airport are being suspended. Passenger flights will be suspended starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, and cargo flights will stop at 10 p.m. This extends all the way until tomorrow morning (7/7) at 10 a.m. It’s a good idea to start adjusting your travel plans now because will start to fill up. Someone here at the office was supposed to fly put tomorrow morning at 6a.m. and after checking in, they got an email saying their flight was canceled. They were able to get switched over to Orlando for the same time, hopefully you can snag one too!
