This Tuesday, Pinellas County has ended its face-covering order after Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis, signed an executive order pertaining to local emergency orders and COVID-19 restrictions.
According to a press release released by Pinellas County officials, the following ordinance requirements are being rescinded:
- COVID-19 ordinance requiring face coverings and certain safety protocols at businesses.
- The order requiring safety plans requirements for large events.
Just as a reminder, masks might not be mandated around the county BUT local businesses in the county can still require face coverings. Also, Pinellas County Schools are NOT included in this mandate. Their face covering mandate in schools and district facilities will end at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9.
