Lots of shelter dogs are looking for a forever home but before they are placed, Pasco Animal Services is calling out for those interested in fostering their pups in need.
If you are a big animal lover and willing to spread the extra love, we have just the job for you.
Pasco Animal Services has a great program called: “Healthy Tails.” This short-term fostering program is designed to help shelter dogs undergoing upper respiratory infection (URI) treatment.
Each effected dog has to stay with a foster family for just two to three weeks to help get back to the shelter to find their new home.
According to ABC Action News, Animal Services says URI’s are one of the most common ailments in sheltering and can be aggravated by the stress of an unknown environment and new experiences. Studies show the opportunity to recover in a stress-free environment, like a home, helps dogs heal faster and be ready for adoption.
*It is recommended that foster pets are quarantined from other pets to reduce spread of disease*
