How Much Will The Florida SunPass Savings Program Actually Save You?
We’re all about keeping money in our pockets! How much will the Florida SunPass Savings program actually save you?
If you’re a frequent user of the Florida’s Turnpike System and toll facilities owned by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), you should see some savings in your monthly statement. The Governor just announced a six-month program that starts on September 1st for Florida SunPass customers(or other Florida toll transponders). Frequent drivers with a minimum of 40 paid transactions a month will receive a Sunpass Savings credit on the 10th of the following month. Here’s the breakdown of the potential savings:
- 40-79 paid transactions a month = 20% credit
- 80+ paid transactions a month = 25% credit
From the press release: “On average, customers using FDOT Turnpike facilities for their daily commute spend $50 per month on tolls. This program could save the average commuter $60 over the next six months, and commuters with more transactions will increase their savings.”
Here are the Tampa Bay locations with toll locations:
- Suncoast Parkway
- Veterans Expressway
- I-4 Connector
- Polk Parkway
- Pinellas Bayway
- Sunshine Skyway Bridge
At the end of the day, is it a big savings? Not really but, in our opinion, the more money you keep in your pocket is always a good thing! [SOURCE ABC Action News/News Channel 8]
