Baseball Hall Of Famer Teams With Tampa Bay Coffee Company To Create New Blend
This Hall of Famer has teamed up with a Tampa Bay coffee to create a new blend and make a difference.
David Ortiz aka Big Papi was a powerhouse on the baseball diamond. So much so, that he was just elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. Now Big Papi has teamed up with Tampa Bay’s Kahwa Coffee Roasters to create his own signature coffee blend. “He was very very into creating the coffee, we talked about creating something that was close to his home town, the Dominican Republic, and having him involved and tasting it and appreciating it and really putting a stamp on it,” said Raphael Perrier, owner of Kahwa Coffee.
It seems that Big Papi heard about the coffee blend Kahwa made for Evan Longoria when he played for the Tampa Bay Rays. In true David Ortiz fashion, he swung for the fences and asked Kahwa to make a Big Papi coffee blend.
The Big Papi Blend dazzles the palate with a rich, full-bodied, and highly aromatic coffee with earthy flavors and sweet notes of chocolate and berries.
A portion of the money from each bag sold goes to the David Ortiz Children’s Fund which provides essential support for children in the Dominican Republic and New England who cannot afford critical cardiac services. “Like Big Papi said, every bag you buy changes a life and that’s what it’s about, you don’t realize and understand exactly how much that means to them,” said Perrier.
So instead of having a cup of Joe, go for a cup of Big Papi and make a difference!
