Tampa International Airport Now Has Direct Flights To Mainland Europe
The world is getting smaller and the allure of Tampa Bay is getting stronger! Tampa International Airport now has direct flights to mainland Europe.
You’ll be seeing a new airline landing at TIA. Eurowings Discover is about to start nonstop service from Frankfurt, Germany to Tampa Bay. The airline is the Lufthansa Group’s new leisure airline and will have four-times-per-week service to TIA.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Eurowings to Tampa Bay and to restore service to Europe and beyond,” said TPA CEO Joe Lopano. “This is a critical connection for both European travelers coming to Florida and Floridians looking to travel the world. Frankfurt is one of Europe’s largest hubs and truly opens up the rest of the world. And, Florida, as we know, is the vacation destination of choice for so many across the pond.”
Eurowings is focused on the leisure market and Tampa is the airline’s first U.S. route. That says a bunch about the attraction of the Tampa Bay area to international visitors. With this foothold on mainland Europe, Tampa International Airport has just gotten better!
