Boxing and MMA draw huge crowds and viewers. We have to ask: is professional pillow fighting the next big spectator sport?
First things first, there actually is a Pillow Fight Championship league (PFC). Yup, pillow fighting has gone pro! Instead of flying fists, we have cushions contacting cheeks! PFC is taking the next step in their sport and holding their first live pay-per-view extravaganza in Miami, Florida on January 29, 2022. Judging by the video to promote PFC 3 Pound Down, the competition will be fierce!
Steve Williams, the CEO of PFC, believes in the sport. “It’s serious. It’s hardcore swinging with specialized pillows. The only difference between our fights and MMA fights is that nobody gets hurt,” said Williams. Most of the pillow fight competitors, male and female, come from the worlds of boxing and MMA so they know what it’s like to get into the squared circle and chase victory.
You know the feathers will be flying at the pay-per-view. However, will professional pillow fighting take off? We might need to sleep on it!
