Kenny Chesney Gives Helping Hand To Florida Wildlife
It’s no secret that Kenny Chesney has a soft spot in his heart for the ocean, but who knew he was such an activist.
One of our favorite country music stars has an organization: No Shoes Reefs
Just recently they installed an artificial reef off of Florida’s Atlantic coast. That’s incredible kind. Lots of other organizations have helped dontate to and build artificial reefs but this one is pretty special because it will be called: No Shoes Reef 4. It will make up a 32-acre (13-hectare) underwater reef park.
“Love the water, give back to the water […] Many people don’t realize both how fragile and resilient the ocean’s ecosystems are, and I think it’s the small projects that raise awareness on local levels that help people understand the ocean is a living thing.”
– Kenny Chesney
These reefs will be great to make new homes for many fish under the sea. I’ve heard many things about reefs getting damaged due to us humans and this is a great way to give back. Great job Kenny!
According to WFLA, here is a list of others working on this project: Palm Beach County Environmental Resources Management, Sandoway Discovery Center, Reef Ball Foundation, Building Conservation Trust and Global SubDive.
