Tampa & Dallas Mayors Agree To Wager Food And Beer On Stanley Cup Final
We are all hoping the Lightning win the Stanley Cup!
Well..there is a little bet going on between the Mayors of Tampa and Dallas!
If the Lightning win the best-of-seven game series, Dallas mayor Eric Johnson will send local craft beer, Texas brisket and Texas State Fair candy apples to Tampa mayor Jane Castor.
However, if the Stars — who lead the Lightning 1-0 heading into Monday’s Game 2 — take three out of the next six games, Castor will send cigars, local craft beer and Cuban bread over to Johnson’s way.
J.R. told us how yummy the candy apples and brisket is – so now Kevin and I are trying to get his mom to send us some.
The last time the Tampa Bay played for Lord Stanley’s trophy, the Lightning fell to the Chicago Blackhawks in six games in 2015. Then-Tampa mayor Bob Buckhorn sent a case of Cigar City Invasion Pale Ale, 122 mini Cuban sandwiches and the Original “1905” Salad from the Columbia Restaurant to then-Chicago mayor Rahm Emmanuel for losing the friendly wager.
OMG…I love the 1905 salad…I went there about 2 weeks ago just to get one…and I’m going back next weekend.
Let’s Go Bolts!
