Weekdays 10AM-3PM

I was just there a year ago this weekend!

Last year, my friend Sarah and I flew to Boston to see George Strait and do some Boston sight seeing…and of course we had to stop by the famous “Cheers” bar….well, it’s closing now. We had to see the place “Where everybody knows your name, and they’re always glad you came”.

The bar has been open for twenty years and CEO Markus Ripperger announced that the bar will shut down August 30.

The bar opened in 2001, and is a replica of the original Bull & Finch Pub on Beacon Street that inspired the hit TV show that aired from 1982 to 1993.

The sitcom’s 271-episode run starred Ted Danson as bar owner Sam Malone and garnered dozens of Emmy wins and more than 100 nominations.

Boston's 'Cheers' bar to permanently close due to coronavirus

Making your way in the world today is proving to be impossible for many restaurants as the coronavirus pandemic has slowed their business. The iconic "Cheers" bar at Boston's Faneuil Hall will close on Aug. 30 after nearly 20 years in business.
