Parents Told They Can’t Show Up At School Dressed In Pj’s And Curlers
Kids have a dress code…and now so do parents
Oh boy! Did you see this? A high school in Houston, TX now has a dress code for the parents of the teens who attend James Madison High School.
Principal Carlotta Outley Brown outlined what is not allowed when visiting the campus:
The list includes:
- Satin caps
- Shower caps
- Hair rollers
- House shoes
- Pajamas
- Ripped jeans
- Leggings when worn with a shirt that allows areas of the body to be seen
- Low-cut, revealing tops
- Sagging pants
- Undershirts
- Daisy Dukes
- Low rider shorts
- Short dresses
The letter said that if a parent comes on campus dressed in one of the prohibited styles, they will not be allowed to enter the building until “appropriately dressed for the school setting.”
She added, “We want the students to know what is appropriate and what is not appropriate for any setting they may be in.”
Some parents weren’t even allowed to sign their kids up for different classes for next year, because they weren’t properly dressed to come inside the school.
Is this going to far? Lots of parents drop their kids off before heading to gym or head back home to finish getting ready for work.
I know the majority of my mom friends literally throw anything on and run out the door to drop their kids off. Most of the time its a t-shirt and leggings.
