- A gateway plant that is pretty strong (i.e. hard to kill) is the ZZ plant. It needs very little light and water to maintain its strong green leafy presence.
2. The snake plant is popular at a lot of local cafés due to its strength and lack of attention required. The snake plant also keeps the air clean in your home while not attracting a lot of pests.
3. If you live in a space with medium to a bright light you might want to opt for the rubber plant.
4. If all else fails, you can also try some lucky bamboo. Bamboo probably ranks #1 on the nearly impossible to kill list.
