Streaming Services Are Going to Start Slipping in Ads When You Pause a TV Show
Looks like things are changing for the New Year!
It’s always nice to get a commercial break so you can use the restroom or grab another Yuengling…but now we are spoiled with streaming…and there are no commercials. So..we hit the pause button. Usually the TV just pauses…but that is all changing.
Now it sounds like when you hit pause… they’re going to sneak in commercials.
Hulu is going to start experimenting with it, so is AT&T, which owns DirecTV and U-verse. Should start in the new year.
They probably won’t be full 30- or 60-second commercials . . . just something that can catch your eye quickly.
Kinda sucks… but the one good thing… these “pause ads” will help keep subscription costs down.
