Monster Ray Swimming In Florida Beach
Holy cow… did you see this monster size ray swimming in the shoreline?
This thing is huge! Good thing is wasn’t in the Gulf of Mexico…this one was was spotted in Ft. Pierce, which is on the East coast just south of Vero Beach.
It is a spotted eagle ray and was very friendly and curious at times swimming near the shore searching for fish in about 2 feet of water.
These are the things that FREAK me out swimming in the ocean… I would probably go into shock if this thing swam up next to me. Doesn’t seem like it was too scare of people.
According to the ocean advocacy group Oceana, spotted eagle rays live in tropical warm waters. Some can reach up to 11 feet and are hardly ever sitting on the bottom.
WHAT??? 11 FEET???
