Rays Introduce $20 Standing Room Tickets at Steinbrenner Field for 2025 Season
Beginning Feb. 24, 2025, fans can grab $20 standing-room tickets at Steinbrenner Field. The team will offer at least 100 spots behind the outfield walls for all 81 home games.
This is a big change from past seasons. Fans who previously had to pay $65 minimum can now watch games for less than a third of that price, without any extra fees or taxes.
Tickets will be released in phases. Season-ticket holders get the first chance on Feb. 25. Rays Insiders can buy on Feb. 26. Everyone else can purchase tickets starting Feb. 27 at 10 a.m.
The switch to Steinbrenner Field comes with big price increases for season tickets. “My friend’s (tickets) went to $26,000, so that’s a hell of a jump… But I get it. It’s Business 101 — supply and demand,” said Billy Martin to Tampa Bay Times.
Some fans are seeing eye-popping increases. One ticket package jumped 38.8% from $18,959 to $26,325. The team explains this is due to the smaller venue and added perks, like premium clubs with included food and drinks.
Final seating arrangements are still being worked out. The Yankees, who share the field, list capacity at 11,026, much smaller than Tropicana’s 25,025 seats with the closed upper deck.
The team is making personnel moves too. Charlie Montoyo is coming back to help develop players while Steven Souza Jr. joins as a scout. Jamie Westbrook signs a minor-league deal, bringing the spring roster to 74 players.
The season includes 28 special events celebrating local cultures, schools, and entertainment. Tickets for these themed games go on sale March 14, 2025.
