I'm always looking for more stuff to do with the kids and this is something I've always wanted to check out. Not only will the kids enjoy this, but dogs are allowed as well. I am a huge dog lover and always want to take Louie with us when we go out, so this is perfect. (They have one special night for dogs and cats).
The Festival of lights & Santa's Village is back the the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds. The start date will be Thursday, Nov. 28 and it will run through Sunday, Dec. 29. Make plans now to visit the Festival of Lights this holiday season.
When you get to the fairgrounds you will drive your car through tons of displays and lights. They have over 1.5 million lights and over 100 different displays to see. You can even drive under the lights. So many cool things to check out. After you are finished, you can head to Santa's Village for more fun.
Santa's Village is packed with holiday-themed rides and activities. There is a self-guided walking tour, tons of holiday goodies and treats, they have movies, holiday shopping, and of course, you can visit with Santa Claus himself. This year, they have also added alcohol to the festivities. For the adults, Keel & Curley Wine will offer wine and cider.
There are themed nights that include entertainment as well as discounts for Military and First Responders. You can even bring your dog to get a picture with Santa. And who's dog doesn't love to go for a ride. Thursday, Dec. 5 is Heroes Night: Active and retired Military, Police, Fire, and First Responders with ID get a discounted admission of $15 per car.
