Nate Smith Puts His Dad To Work On Tour
Nate Smith puts his dad to work on tour with him. We talked about this when we had a chance to catch up with Nate recently. Nate Smith called into Tampa Bays Hometown Morning Krewe show and talked about these past few years and how his life has completely changed. We are all huge fans of him, his music is amazing and he just keeps cranking out big hits.
Nate Smith is originally from California and after moving to Nashville to pursue a career, he ended up moving back to Paradise after the Camp Fire in 2018 destroyed his home. To cope with the loss he wrote music, which eventually helped him launch his career, all thanks to TikTok. He wrote the song “One of These Days” and the song went viral on social media and led to local TV appearances and benefit concerts. From there, he was able to move back to Nashville and sign with Sony music and release an EP called Reckless.
Nate released his debut album in April 2023, kicked off his biggest headlining tour and topped Billboard’s Country Airplay chart with “World on Fire” for 10 weeks in February, tying Morgan Wallen — for the longest-leading No. 1 in the chart’s history. His luck continued when Morgan asked him to join him on tour with him that year. Nate has already celebrated his third number one song in his short amount of time.

We were lucky to hang with Nate before the show at Raymond James Stadium, with Morgan and we got to meet his dad, Alan Smith. After meeting his dad, you can tell how proud he is of his son, how much he loves him and how much he likes to help out on the road. Nate spoke about how he puts his dad to work on tour as security. Nate said his dad likes the feeling of being in control and acting like a security guard walking his son through the crowd and to the stage. He feels important. When Nate introduced us he said his dad is his best friend and a great drinking buddy.
Here is an old post he made about how proud he is of his dad, who is also a Veteran.
Nate will be here opening the Strawberry Festival on February 27 and then again with Jason Aldean October 3rd. He is excited about the Strawberry Festival, especially the Amish doughnuts.
