The company has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and has been sold to the private equity firm Nexus Capital Management. This will cause them to close many stores around the country. Big Lots sells a lot of closeout furniture and home décor. Ever since high interest rates and a slow housing market, Big Lots has had a hard time making ends meet. The demand for their home goods has not been as high. The company runs over 13-hundred stores in 48 states but plans to close almost 300 locations to reduce costs. The sale to Nexus isn’t complete just yet; Big Lots will hold a court-supervised auction for the business, which could go to a different buyer if someone outbids the equity firm.
Although Big Lots has yet to publish a list of its planned store closures, in the filing with Delaware’s bankruptcy court, the company has confirmed the commencement process of closing 295 stores. The filing included a list of more than 100 locations across 32 states whose leases are expected to be rejected in September. Which stores in our area will be closing? I love Big Lots. They have great holiday decorations that won’t make you break the bank. It’s a great time to get Halloween, Thanksgiving and even Christmas decorations. I have purchased all kinds of stuff from Big Lots, from pillows, to cleaning supplies to home décor. I would be really bummed if the Big Lots near my home closed down.

She did say that she prefers the healthier and organic options when it comes to food. Yes, that makes a difference. However, you should not have to spend a fortune just to eat healthy.
