Prices Are Going Up At Tampa International Airport

Prices are going up at Tampa International airport. Inflation has hit the gas stations, grocery stores and now, it has hit the airport parking. This increase is needed due to a combination of growth and inflation, according to WFLA.com. If you have been to the airport recently, it is all under construction. First, they have been adding so much, to accommodate all the visitors flying in and out of Tampa. Second, the current construction project consists of moving walkways in the long term parking garage. Along with that, they are also demolishing the outdated monorail in the long and short term garages. This will make room for nearly 500 new parking spaces.
Starting today, Tuesday April 4th, the daily rate for economy parking will go up by $2, which means for 24 hours of parking, it goes up from $12 to $14. Hourly rates are not affected.
Over the next 12 years, parking facility operations will cost an estimated at $72 million. To help address these costs, the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority Board of Directors approved a parking rate adjustment for TPA’s Economy Parking Garage.
Subsequently, daily maximum parking fees will also go up in 2024. Parking will be $28 in the Short Term Garage, $22 in the Long Term Garage and $18 in the Economy Garage.
