Florida Woman Sues Hernando County Chick-Fil-A For Black Nugget
According to WFLA, a lawsuit was filed by a Florida woman, that Chick-fil-A allegedly made her severely ill after eating a black chicken nugget in January 2020.
Shi’terra Sharp went to the Chick-fil-A at 13143 Cortez Blvd. in Brooksville, Florida, in Hernando County, according to the lawsuit. (Side bar: I eat there often since I live in Spring Hill… no black nuggets served to me.)
The Lawsuit:
According to court filings, the lawsuit claims that after buying chicken nuggets from the Hernando County eatery, she returned home to Orlando, Orange County, and began eating them when she discovered the meat was “black in color.” The lawsuit states that after consuming them, Sharp “became violently ill, was nauseated, vomited until (she) had no strength left to do so, suffered from cramping, nausea, and diarrhea, and sustained great injury to her mouth, throat, stomach, and digestive system.”
Sharp says that after being checked into a hospital, a stomach ailment was identified. She claims that by carelessly neglecting to properly inspect and guarantee that the food was appropriate for human consumption before selling it, the business that runs the establishment, Holland Hospitality, LLC, violated its obligation because of the black chicken nugget.
Sharp is suing the defendant in Orange County, according to the lawsuit, for damages that surpass $50,000 as a result of her condition. According to the lawsuit, “the plaintiff will suffer said losses in the future, that is, permanently,” and “these losses are either permanent or continuing in nature.”
