Jelly Roll is Coming to Tampa for his first ever headlining tour.    He’s calling it the Backroad Baptism Tour.  He will be in Tampa Saturday October 14, 2023, at the Mid Florida Credit Union Amphitheatre.

This is the first time Jelly Roll has performed in Tampa for a big show.

Opening Acts

Jelly Roll announced that Chase Rice, Ashley McBryde, Elle King, Struggle Jennings & Josh Adam Meyers will join him on the road.  Chase Rice will be opening the show on our Tampa date.

About Jelly Roll

Jelly Roll has been working towards his career for a long time.

First, he started selling his mix tapes out of his car.  Secondly, he has constantly been releasing new music (more than 24 albums).  Thirdly, he has been touring relentlessly.  Above all,  he is consistently topping various iTunes charts, creating fanbase and making videos that have nearly 2 billion views on YouTube.  Finally, He writes deep personal lyrics and pairs that with music that blends Old-school Rap, Classic Rock, Country and Soul,  His lyrics are therapeutic, raw and tackles the heaviness in life.

Born and raised in Nashville’s Antioch neighborhood, the former addict and drug dealer released his album Ballads of the Broken in 2021.  Right after the album came out, he sold the famous Ryman Auditorium in under an hour.

Country Stars Who Have Appeared On SNL

With the announcement that Kelsea Ballerini will be the next country star to perform on Saturday Night Live on March 4, we look back at the country stars have come before her on the legendary comedy sketch show. There haven’t been too many country music stars to be the musical guest on the show, and only a handful of country superstars, including Garth Brooks, Blake Shelton, Dolly Parton, and Taylor Swift, have hosted the show.

  • Luke Combs - Musical guest - February 2020

    Luke sang two songs on the show, including his big ole hit “Beer Never Broke My Heart.”

  • Morgan Wallen - Musical guest - December 2020

    Morgan sang two songs on the show and appeared in a skit along with Jason Bateman, who played Wallen at a party.

    Kacey is the only artist to ever perform totally in the nude with just a guitar to cover her. Kacey told V Magazine after the performance, “It was an idea that hit me last minute. A lot of my ideas come like a lightning bolt with no explanation.” She added, “A couple of days [before the performance], I was getting a workout, and I had this image pop into my mind of Jenny from Forrest Gump, naked on a stool. I just thought, with ‘Justified,’ I had to do it.”

    Dolly was the musical guest and performed in many of the skits on the show as host. She later said it was pretty hard and that she would not ever host and be the musical guests at the same time again.

    He hosted as Garth and was the musical guest as Chris Gaines.

  • Blake Shelton - Hosted and musical guest - January 2015

    The always-funny Blake was perfect for his hosting role, appearing in many skits on the show. In one skit, he played Disney character, John Smith.

  • Taylor Swift - Hosted and musical guest - November 2009

    Taylor was a natural and quite funny in many of the show’s skits. She hosted the show when she was just 19 years old.

  • Chris Stapleton - Musical guest - January 2016

    Chris did a fun promo for the show with Will Ferrell. He also performed two songs.

  • Faith Hill - Musical guest - October 200

    Besides singing, Faith even did a fun skit with host Sarah Michelle Gellar.

    Cash did many skits and sang two of his classic songs.

Launa is part of Tampa Bay's Hometown Morning Krewe on 99.5 WQYK. She has been with the station for 7 years and joined J.R. and Kevin on the morning show 4 years ago. Since then, they have been nominated for not only a CMA but also an ACM. Launa has been in radio for the past 28 years and in the Tampa Bay market for 22 of those years. While working in radio, Launa has also served as an entertainment reporter on a local TV show and has hosted many charity events in the community. Using her popularity from QYK, Launa loves to help raise money for shelter animals and has been a volunteer at local shelters for years. Launa loves the community and writes articles on local news, entertainment, and events and highlights people who are shining in Tampa Bay that she knows others like her would also be interested in reading.
