Florida City Named One Of The Noisiest Places In America
One must pay attention to many other body areas, including their hearing. As Americans, we are subjected to various noises that may hurt our hearing. Some examples of the clamor that may impact people over time are emergency sirens, the sounds of traffic, noisy events, and even the general buzz found in restaurants and bars. Did a Florida city make the list of noisiest?
Forbes Health went through the data to determine which cities in the United States presented the biggest threat to the hearing health of its citizens. The following are the criteria that the researchers used to choose the candidates:
“Forbes Health set out to determine which metropolitan areas in the U.S. could pose the greatest risks to residents’ hearing health. In ranking cities, we calculated the density of 11 types of noise-producing establishments in each locale. Establishments were weighted based on how potentially damaging they can be to hearing health, how accessible they are to the general public, and whether they require some form of hearing protection for entry.”
On the list was the Deltona, Florida, metro region, which includes Daytona Beach and Ormond Beach. Overall, it came in at position No. 12. What’s more surprising… Tampa didn’t make the list of the top 20, even though it is one of the noisiest cities in Florida! The people of Forbes need to spend more time over this way, lol.
