Why are people moving?
People move to more favorable areas or cities for many reasons, whether for new job opportunities or better peace of mind. Another emerging factor is how well officials manage a city. Good city management means that public services are efficient and responsive, infrastructure is well-maintained, and overall quality of life is higher. These factors can be a deciding factor for many people when choosing a place to live. More and more cities are developing a reputation for how city leaders handle laws, infrastructure, crime, and other pressing issues. And since Florida…namely, the Tampa Bay area, is a HUGE transplant state/city, especially during the pandemic, we don’t blame people for wanting to be Floridians!
Which Florida city is on the decline?
WalletHub compiled a list of the best and worst-run cities. A popular destination in South Florida ranks among the most problematic in the country, and that’s Fort Lauderdale. It ranks No. 113 out of 149. Ouch!
What about other Florida Cities?
Other Florida cities got kudos from researchers. Miami and Hialeah were among the lowest unemployment. As well as great roads, Tallahassee has a high graduation rate and good-quality roads.
Where does the Tampa Bay area score?
Tampa was also praised for our low poverty and crime rates. Yea, we ARE amazing! This is likely due to our economy, which is largely dominated by tourism and technology. Miami and Hialeah have a large number of businesses that are focused on hospitality and entertainment, which helps to keep unemployment low. Tallahassee has a strong education sector, which contributes to its high graduation rate. Tampa has a strong economy, which helps to keep poverty and crime rates lower.

There are many experiences here in Florida, but there are four that made the list of the best in the nation. The list comes from Tripadvisor, which put together the list of Best Overall Experiences in the United States. What’s really cool about this list is that is Traveler’s Choice Awards. There are a couple of the experiences on the list that are right here in the Tampa Bay area. The #1 experience in the United States is a full-day tour that takes you all around Oahu in Hawaii. We know there are many adventures to have here in Florida. There are four Florida experiences that are some of the best in the nation. Additionally, there are many other things to do in Florida that didn’t make the list. There are many theme parks for you to enjoy here in Florida. Right here in the Tampa Bay area, Busch Gardens and you have Adventure island. Secondly, of course there are many things to do in the Orlando area including Disney and Universal. Kennedy Space Center is also another fun thing for you to do here in the state of Florida. There is also many beaches for you to enjoy here in Florida. Finally, how about take an airboat tour of the Everglades. You will definitely see some wildlife while on the trip. Check them out below.
