Baby Dolphin Rescued In Clearwater Now Has A Name
Do you remember the story about the baby dolphin that was caught in a crab trap under Clearwater’s Pier 60? Well, that little fella now has a name.
It was hit or miss whether this baby dolphin would make it. Thankfully, the staff at Sea World Orlando worked day and night and now this baby dolphin is thriving. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said that because of his age and lack of survival skills, the dolphin will become a resident at Sea World.
That brings us to the baby dolphin’s name. This adorable orphan can’t go nameless so Sea World held a contest. The names they proposed were “Ridgway,” “Theodore,” “Pierre” and “Teddy.” After the social media voting was closed, the winning name emerged. Bearing the name of a former president of the National Marine Mammal Foundation, please welcome Ridgway to Sea World Orlando! [SOURCE News Channel 8]
