The Song Jason Aldean Almost Didn’t Record
The song Jason Aldean almost didn’t record. Jason Aldean called into the show this morning to catch up with Tampa Bays Hometown Morning Krewe. His new song “Let Your Boys Be Country” is sitting at the top of the charts.
We started out talked to him about his Rock The Country Tour with Kid Rock. They stopped in Ocala, Florida for the first shows of the tour. Jason said it was fun going back to Ocala to do a show after all these years. He used to be in a band back in the day called Young Guns. His band would play small clubs in and around Gainsville and Ocala. He mentioned that Ocala was special to him and he was happy to play the festival.
He said that Ocala was the biggest show they have had so far. He loves the crowd and has had a ton of fun. He said it was a no brainer when he was asked to headline this festival in it’s first year. Jason is known to take his wife and kids on the road with him and when we asked when if he lets his kids go out in the crowd he immediately replied no. I said but you have a song called “Let Your Boys Be Country” but he said that was too much for his little ones. I was actually kidding, Not sure any parent would let their young ones run out into the crowd during a Rock The Country Show. We don’t blame him, we wouldn’t either.
Jason said there isn’t anything he really keeps Memphis from doing, he lets him figure it out. He does protect his son, but he mostly wants him to figure things out on his own.
The Song Jason Aldean Almost Didn’t Record
Switching gears with Jason, we asked him about a song he released back in 2009, Big Green Tractor. it was the song Jason Aldean almost didn’t record. Jason said that he couldn’t believe that his label wanted to release the song as a single. He wasn’t really a big fan of the song. Tractor went on to be his third number one song and sat at the top of the charts for 4 weeks. He wasn’t crazy in love with the song, but it was the right call at the time.
J.R. asked him about the jersey he put a big on at the Bruce Arians Foundation earlier this year. Jason bid $250,000 on a Tom Brady worn game jersey. Aldean said he still hasn’t paid Bruce for the jersey, and we’re not sure he’s going to.
It was great to catch up with Jason and can’t wait to see him again when he returns to Tampa.
