Before summer is over and you go back to your normal routine of dropping the kids off at school with a pumpkin spice latte in your hand. There's still time to enjoy some fun in the sun. Call up some friends and jump on the Mad Beach Party Charter!
Grab your bathing suit, towel, and 11 of your closest friends as you set sail on a 2022 Solid Craft Double decker pontoon. Did I mention there's a slide on the 2nd floor?! You will cruise out to the John's Pass sandbar where you can enjoy Beer Pong, Bottle Frisbee, Basketball, Volleyball, Football and music.

You’ll have to bring your own beer, but the charter will keep your beverages of choice cold for you all day. Your focus is probably on the beer, but don’t forget the sunscreen and snacks! You can choose a captain from their roster or bring your own. As you cruise to the sandbar, be on the look out for dolphins. You could see them swimming next to you or playing in the boats wake.
The stress free 4 hour boat rides start at $550. Which you can split with up to 6 people. The larger boat that holds up to 12 people is only $100 more. So that's about $90 or $55 per person, depending on the size of the boat. Which honestly sounds just as expensive as a night out in Tampa, but better!
There are plenty of other boating charters to choose from around the Tampa Bay area, but unless you want to board the Yacht Starship for a fancy meal on the water, or go on a fishing expedition, this is definitely the most entertaining option. End the summer strong, with a unforgettable day on the Mad Beach Party Charter!
5 Places To Check Out While Scalloping In Homosassa
One of my all time favorite things to do in Florida is to go scalloping in Homosassa. Scallop season just started on July 1, so do yourself a favor and go enjoy this activity that’s fun for the whole family. All you need is a boat, know someone with a boat, (or rent one) a mask & snorkel, flippers and a mesh bag to put your scallops in. After a long day in the sun, you'll need a place to stop for some delicious food before heading back to Tampa. Here are my favorite restaurants in Homosassa.
Homosassa is only about an hour away from the Tampa/St. Pete area. If you’ve never been, here’s the basics. You snorkel around until you spot a scallop. You dive down to grab it and put it in your mesh bag until you get back on the boat. It’s kinda like a treasure hunt.

Florida Fish and Wildlife has a map showing all locations where you can go and the dates showing when scallop season starts and ends. My families favorite place to go scalloping is Homosassa. In Homosassa there’s plenty of great restaurants to choose from, you can hang out in the fresh water spring, which is perfect after scalloping in the salt water and no other place has Monkey Island.
Here’s my Top 5 restaurants to check out in Homosassa:
Crumps Landing
Crumps is our favorite all around place on Homosassa river. They have great food, amazing atmosphere, and a killer view. There’s a beach area for corn hole and huge playground area for the kids. Our fav’s are the gator bites and grouper sandwich.
The Freezer
The Freezer is in the cut and gives you more of a bar feel than a restaurant, but the food is outstanding. If the check this place out, bring cash and order the shrimp. It’s an absolute must!
Marguerita Grill
The atmosphere at Marguerita Grill is like no other. The menu is huge, we love the nachos, grilled octopus, and burgers.
Florida Cracker Kitchen
You get a little bit of everything here. You can get a delicious breakfast on your way out to scallop or stop by for lunch after you’re done. The kids can grab some ice cream while you grab something to at the Monkey Bar. All while taking in a beautiful view of the river
MacRae’s
Listen to live music as the boats cruise down the river, while eating great food and some cold beers
