Schools Says Social Distancing On School Buses Is Impossible
As we prepare to get the kids back into the classroom, we also have to consider the bus ride to school.
Polk county schools’ transportation department says social distancing on a school bus is impossible.
The Center for Disease Control guidelines states, it’s recommended students ride only one person per seat in every other row.
Rob Davis, who is Polk County Schools’ transportation director, says it would take too long to get everyone to their destination. They did the math and figured out it would take all day to get students to school and by the time we got them there it would be time to turn around and take them home, because that would only be 13 students on each bus ride….and it doesn’t make sense.
They will be sitting two children in each seat in every row. They will be requiring riders to wear masks unless there’s a doctor’s note provided.
The buses will also be deep cleaned multiple times a day.
