Tennessee Whiskey: The Story Of Dean Dillon Now Streaming
You may not know Dean Dillon, but you know his songs. He’s written more than 30 No. 1 hits for artists ranging from George Strait to Kenny Chesney, which is one reason a movie has now been made about him.
Tennessee Whiskey: The Story Of Dean Dillon is streaming now and it documents the legendary songwriter’s path to success. That success is wide-ranging, of course. George Strait, George Jones, Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith and a long list of others have recorded his songs, which he’s been writing for more than four decades.

One of Dillon’s most well-known songs – and there are many – is “Tennessee Whiskey,” the movie’s namesake and one he co-wrote with the late Linda Hargove decades ago. Artists who’ve laid claim to the tune include David Allan Coe, George Jones and Brad Paisley. Chris Stapleton famously recorded it most recently, and his performance with Justin Timberlake at the 2015 CMA Awards arguably exposed the song to its biggest audience yet.

The movie was released to limited audiences earlier this year, but was recently made available more widely via streaming on Amazon and iTunes. Check out a short list of Dean Dillon songs here.
