Last week, an ad appeared in the country music trades that said, “Luke Bryan, August 23.” Rumors started to swirl regarding the announcement, but as of yesterday, all signs pointed to a new single.
And what a single it is! “Light It Up” is the first single off of the country music star’s upcoming album. The new tune starts off like many sad country songs, but has a modern twist — as it walks us through the emotional aftermath of a break up. As the song plays on, the heartache and yearning for lost love becomes painfully evident.
The song title refers to the man’s phone, and how he hopes his ex will call or text him to let him know how much she misses him and wants him back.
