Play With Baby Goats & Farm Animals Near Tampa Bay

We’re not sure why, but baby goats just seem to make everything better. Having a bad day? Hold a baby goat and see what happens. Maybe it’s the way they eat oranges or maybe it’s how they bounce around, we’re not sure. If you want to play with goats in Tampa Bay, you can for just $5.

Where Can You Play With Farm Animals Near Tampa Bay?

Luckily for us, we don’t have to go very far to hang out with farm animals. In Polk City, FL,  Bell Family Farm offers a wide range of activities for kids and adults. This isn’t just some commercialized petting zoo at a theme park. Bell Family Farm is a family-oriented and operated petting farm. 

The Bell Family Farm is more than just your average farm tour. They have Cow Cuddles, Baby Goat Cuddles, Private Tours, Goat Yoga and more.  For $15, you can cuddle, brush, feed, and learn about Aurora the cow in a 15-minute private session. Groups of up to 4 people are allowed at a time and the sessions start at $15 per person. For this add-on, you must be 13 or older.

The Baby Goat cuddles are what we’re here for. For just $5 per session, you can hang out with Bjorn, Fernando, Arthur, and Ford in their pen. The sessions last about 15 minutes and you can hold and play with these little guys as they bounce around. 

Ever tried goat yoga? Bell Farm offers regular and private sessions so you can spend the hour stretching with the goats as they stand on your back and lay on your mat. Private sessions cost $105 for up to 5 people for 50-minute sessions and $210 for up to 10 people. Sessions are open Wednesdays through Fridays as well as Sundays from 9-10 AM and you can book here.

Does interacting with farm animals help relieve stress?

According to the Ecohappinessproject, goats provide a natural stress reliever. As farmlands are taken over by shopping plazas and smoothie shops, people aren’t as familiar with farm life as they once were. 

When you hold and play with baby goats, oxytocin is released which is a hormone known as a natural mood booster and pain reliever. While handling and interacting with these animals, people are living more in the moment.
