George Birge Asks Jason Aldean For Big Favor

George Birge called into the show today and talked QYK Guitar Pull.  He is the third artist we will have on stage this year. We also found out about the time  George Birge asks Jason Aldean for big favor.

George is loved by the QYK listeners and those that work here. We recently got to hang with him at Southern Belle for a client party. He was nice enough to come out and play some songs for us and he was awesome. Loved him so much we decided then that we would love to invite him back for the QYK Guitar Pull.

George got noticed on TikTok like so many others.  Just two weeks after he posted “Beer Beer, Truck Truck” to TikTok, his video had reached nearly 3 million views and he grew his followers from less than 50 to 130,000. It also won over Rynnstar, who's real name is Erynn Chambers.  She has lots of followers and joked how country songs are just repetitious ditties about beer, trucks, and girls. George wanted to prove her wrong and he did just that.

Now he is signed to Records Nashville and released his first album.

Birge and Colt Ford are good friends and got together to write “Mind on You,” along with Jaron Boyer and Michael Tyler.  The gave it to Jason Aldean to record.  Then the awkward phone call had to come.  George wanted the song back to record, so he had to call Jason Aldean and ask for his song back.  Luckily,  Jason was cool and gave it back.   Now it's about to be his very first number one song.  He told us all about it.

Cannot wait to see George on stage at this years QYK Guitar Pull.  He has a ton of energy, he's funny and has the best sense of humor.  Can't wait to see what he brings to the table November 12th at the Mahaffey Theater.

After spending a week in Galveston, Texas with Clay Walker, George Birge was persuaded by Clay to get on TikTok. Starting out with only six followers and unclear what his future held, George stumbled across video of Erynn Chambers poking fun at country music. Erynn, a TikTok Star known as Rynnstar, joked about how country music was only about beer, trucks and girls. Birge was determined to turn those words into something deeper.

Unsure of what was next, Birge grabbed his guitar and penned the song “Beer Beer, Truck Truck,” an up-tempo melody that inspires more than just the cliché taglines it suggests. After posting the song to Tik-Tok, it quickly racked up over 3 million views and immediately changed his life. “Beer Beer, Truck Truck” landed Birge a recording deal with RECORDS Nashville and credited Rynnstar as a writer on the massive hit.

After the release of his debut Album, “Mind on You”, Birge is letting everyone know he is here to stay and isn’t just another Tik-Tok hit. With years of songwriting experience and performing in his blood, Birge has opened for artists like Gary Allen who have paved the way for artists like himself.

Birge sat down to write the lead single, “Mind on You” with his old friend Colt Ford, Jaron Boyer and Michael Tyler. Originally set to be recorded by Jason Aldean, Birge couldn’t let it go. “It has a dark, sexy mysterious vibe to it. And instrumentally, there are so many different sounds, from acoustic guitars and mandolin to bouzouki. It’s a sonic experience,” says Birge.

With “Mind on You” climbing the charts on country radio, Birge is set to have a breakout year that you won’t want to miss.
