New Nonstop Flights Coming To TPA
There are new nonstop flights coming to TPA. Tampa International Airport announced that they have a new Daily route to San Diego. You will be able to fly Alaska Airlines nonstop to San Diego. That flight will take a little over five hours to get there. Spirit Airlines also began daily nonstop service to Charlotte, North Carolina. Spirit will also fly from TPA to Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia. Additionally, they will fly nonstop to Charleston, South Carolina four times per week as seasonal routes start in November.
Not only are there new nonstop flights now happening at TPA, but coming in November you will be able to fly new routes outside the United States. Canadian airline Lynx Air will be flying to Toronto and Montreal nonstop. Those will run four times a week starting November 16. They aren’t the only Canadian cities you can fly to nonstop from TPA. Starting on December 23 you will be able to fly to Calgary, Alberta, Canada on WestJet.
Finally, if you were looking to fly internationally you will be able to fly nonstop from Tampa to Frankfurt, Germany. This will be a daily flight starting in the summer of 2024 and it will be on the new Discover Airlines.
Tampa International Airport Has Won Awards Recently
Tampa International Airport has been in the news for some good things they have won. The pink flamingo Phoebe won an international art award. Phoebe just turned one year old and was honored as the CODA awards winner for the most successfully integrated commission, and art into interior, architectural, or public spaces.
TPA also was recognized by Food & Wine as a part of their first-ever readers choice awards. The list of the airports with the best food was recently revealed and Tampa International Airport was ranked #6. Food & Wine had their readers vote on the airport with the best food based on travel completed within the last 3 years. The categories included restaurants, bars, hotels, airlines, and airports. TPA announced its new mobile service with UberEats. With this partnership, you can order ahead for pickup at many of TPA’s local favorites. All you have to do is set TPA as your location before you arrive or while you’re waiting by your gate.
Finally, Tampa Bay is known as the birthplace of commercial airline service. Tony Jannus flew the inaugural flight of the St. Petersburg–Tampa airboat line on January 1, 1914. That is the first scheduled commercial airline flight in the world using a heavier-than-air airplane.
