Corey Kent is coming to the QYK Guitar Pull this year and we are excited about it. Corey has had success recently with his song, "Wild As Her". Let's get you more familiar with Corey so here are three fun facts about Corey Kent.

Corey Kent is from the small town of Bixby, Oklahoma, but big-city energy of Dallas, Texas, and vocal prowess that rivals Nashville’s best. Corey started his journey in the music industry when he was just a kid.

Fun Facts About Corey Kent

The first of three fun facts about Corey Kent is that at 11, he took the stage as the lead singer for a touring Western Swing band. A few years later, he would be booking gigs around his hometown of Bixby, Oklahoma, and by 17, he made his way to Nashville.

The second fun fact is that he went to a Willie Nelson concert while he was in high school and ended up getting called up on stage to join Willie. That inspired him to start writing songs.

The third and final fun fact about Corey is that after the pandemic he ended moving to Texas and joined a paving crew to pay the bills.

Corey loves touring and performed over 100 shows in 2021. Along with headlining his shows and playing the top music festivals across the country, Corey has been the supporting act for artists including Parker McCollum, Cody Johnson, Chase Rice, Eli Young, Josh Abbott, Flatland Cavalry, and Kolby Cooper.

In 2020, Corey released his From the West LP, which garnered 3.5+ million aggregate streams and set the stage for his next chapter. His song “Gold” and fan favorite “Ain’t My Day has nearly 15 million streams combined. In December of 2021, Corey released his sophomore album, ’21.

Kevin is a member of Tampa Bay‘s Hometown Morning Krewe on 995 QYK. He has been with the station for 25 years, is a Tampa native, and went to Jesuit High School and USF. Go Bulls!. He is passionate about all things Tampa Bay. Kevin writes articles on the ongoing road projects around the Tampa Bay area, awards that Tampa Bay cities and businesses have won and country music happenings around the Bay area. He is always doing many things with his wife and kids. He loves to read books and play video games in his spare time.
