New Dog Friendly Event Coming To Gasparilla
Gasparilla Season is here and there is a new event that all dog owners are going to be excited about. We are all huge dog lovers on the show so this was something we wanted to share with the other dog lovers out there. There is a new dog friendly event coming to Gasparilla!
It’s the first-ever Pirate Pup Parade and it’s happening on Sunday January 14th. We found this story on ABCActionNews.
The Pirate Party is in full swing in Tampa in the month of January, so it’s only natural that we get our four legged friends involved in the fun. This year – Water Street is joining in on the pirate festivities with its Pirate Pup Parade. It will be from 11am–2pm on Water Street in downtown Tampa. If you have a dog, dress him or her up and come down to Water Street Tampa to take part in the parade, pet-friendly activities, and even a Pirate Pup Costume Contest. Bring the kids too because they will also have face painting, pet caricatures, and so much more.
As a dog owner, I’m always looking for events and activities that I can do with my dog Louie, to get him out of the house. The weather in January in Tampa is a lot cooler for dogs and they love to be outside. Getting them socialized with other dogs is good for them too. Plus you’re getting exercise and getting out of the house away from your computer and TV. Although, you’ll probably be on your phone taking pictures because all the dogs will be dressed up.
Schedule Of Events
Firstly, they will offer free Chill Bros pup cups for the first 100 dogs at the Barking Lot, so get there early. Secondly, the parade starts at 11 a.m. at the intersection of Channelside Drive and East Cumberland Avenue. After the parade, you’ll be able to walk around to see the different vendors and fun things to do. Lastly, they will hold the dog costume contest at 1pm at Sparkman Wharf. It will wrap up by 2pm
If you don’t have a pooch of your own? Not a problem, because there will be pet adoptions from Hillsborough Pet Resource Center and Mercy Full Project in Raybon Plaza.
Registration is required to partake in the parade. You can find parking around Water Street, especially in the garage at 1045 E Cumberland Ave.
If you’ve never been to Water Street, there are a ton of shops to check out like Naked Farmer, Chill Bros Ice Cream, Boulon Brasserie, Wagamama, DWELL Home Market, Wine on Water and more.
Sparkman Wharf, located at 615 Channelside Dr, and there is a own dog park located in the barking lot.
The official Gasparilla Children’s Parade is set for Saturday, January 20, and the big Pirate Fest is scheduled for January 27.
