Nate Smith Gets In Trouble With Avril Lavigne
We got to talk with Nate Smith on the phone today and he told us about a pretty wild night he had in L.A. Nate Smith gets in trouble with Avril Lavigne.
Nate’s current single is called Bulletproof and it’s close to becoming his next number one song. He recently preformed it on the CMT Award show with a special guest. He brought out rocker Avril Lavigne. The two performed Nate’s song Bulletproof. We had to ask him how that collaboration came about. He said he dreamed about it. He reached out to her management after the dream and then he received a text from her shortly after that. The two became fast friends.
Smith had a lot of good things to say about Lavigne. Saying she is down to earth and normal. The two decided to met up one night to hang out. Nate Smith gets in trouble with Avril Lavigne one night in L.A. He said after messaging back and forth about singing the song together, they decided to grab a drink. That drink turned into a few more and they ended up getting chased by photographers one night. Sounds like it was a wild fun night. The two did an amazing job performing the song on the CMT Award Shows.
If you have the latest album from Nate, Through the Smoke, you will notice that he covers a classic song from the 90’s. Nirvana’s song Heart Shaped Box on his album. He was talking about how one day his guitarist started jamming the Nirvana song out of the blue and then they just decided to record it. He does an amazing job on this song.
Nate is known to cover the song Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. He did the song when he was here with Chris Young last November at The Sound. He mentioned that he has another big 90’s song he will perform this week, but wouldn’t tell us which one.
We also talked about how cool it was to be on this massive tour. He loves Jelly Roll and said he is just the nicest guy. He said he hasn’t had much time with Morgan yet, but they keep talking about sitting down and writing together.
