Tampa International Airport Wins Another Major Award
Tampa International Airport has won another major award. This one they’ve won two years in a row. JD Power’s 2023 North American airport satisfaction study has been released. Firstly, the study rates three airport categories and they are mega, large and medium sized airports. Next, they base their findings on over 27,000 traveler surveys from August 2022 through July 2023. For the second year in a row Tampa International Airport is the best large airport in America.
Additionally, JD Power uses six factors to determine the overall satisfaction of travelers. Those are terminal facilities, airport, arrival/departure, baggage, claim, security, check, check-in/baggage check and food/beverage/retail.
Tampa International Airport Has Had A Lot Of Success
Tampa International Airport has been in the news for some good things they have won. The pink flamingo Phoebe won an international art award. Phoebe just turned one year old and was honored as the CODA awards winner for the most successfully integrate commission, art into interior, architectural, or public spaces.
TPA also was recognized by Food & Wine as a part of their first-ever readers choice awards. The list of the airports with the best food was recently revealed and Tampa International Airport was ranked #6. Food & Wine had their readers vote on the airport with the best food based on travel completed within the last 3 years. The categories included restaurants, bars, hotels, airline, and airports. Finally, Tampa Bay is known as the birthplace of commercial airline service. Tony Jannus flew the inaugural flight of the St. Petersburg–Tampa airboat line on January 1, 1914. That is the first scheduled commercial airline flight in the world using a heavier than air airplane.
