Our Mutt Monday Dog Princess Is Looking For A Fur-ever Home

Our Mutt Monday dog, Princess, is looking for a fur-ever home. She has requested a home with a pile of soft beds, velvet blankets, gourmet cookies and a treasure trove of toys! Princess is a happy girl who walks well on a leash and loves to play fetch. She is a 3 year old, 45 pound pit mix. Thanks to the Pit Project, her adoption fee is $75. You must own your home to adopt Princess.

Princess is available at Pet Pal Animal Shelter in St. Pete.


Launa's Top 5 Moments From Pig Jig

The 11th Annual Pig Jig happened this past weekend at Julian B. Lane right on the Riverwalk in Tampa.   Even though this is  an event that is packed full of friends listening to great music and eating great BBQ, it’s more than that.  The Tampa Pig Jig is a philanthropic event that raises money for NephCure Kidney International, the only nonprofit organization committed to supporting research, improving treatment, and finding a cure for the debilitating kidney disease, Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and Nephrotic Syndrome.

A couple of guys from Tampa started this in their garage and it’s grown into a huge city event.  This year Sam Hunt and Kip Moore were the headliners.

So many great moments from the night, but here are my top 5

 

 

  • #5 Kip Moore Sang Purple Rain

    I love Prince, so when Kip Moore sang Purple Rain on stage for his last song, it was pretty amazing. He did a great job!

  • #4. Hanging out with Kip Moore

    We had a chance to say hi to Kip after he got off the stage.  He was so happy to finally do a show here since it has been such a long time.  He looked great and sounded even better on stage!

  • #3. I Almost Adopted A Dog

    I got to meet a puppy that needed a home and I almost took him home with me.   His name is Piglet. People can bid in the silent auction at Pig Jig and one of the things they had was this Puppy.    A Siberian-husky mix from the Humane Society of Tampa.  He was so cute and I really wanted him.  I’m sure he found a home…. I mean c’mon.

  • #2. I Finally Got To Meet J.R.'s Girlfriend

    J.R. has been dating this girl for months and I have only heard about her.  I’ve seen her on Facetime, but never got to hang out with her until Saturday.  She was amazing!  Just loved her and J.R. together.  They make a cute couple and she really seems to like J.R.

  • #1 Sam Hunt Sang Raised On It For Me

    We got to say hi to Sam before he went on stage and I asked him if he would sing “Raised on It” for me. It’s my favorite song by Sam and he was like, sure, I can do that. So thank you Sam for singing for me….I’m sure when he was singing it on stage, he was thinking about me.

     

Kevin is a member of Tampa Bay‘s Hometown Morning Krewe on 995 QYK. He has been with the station for 25 years, is a Tampa native, and went to Jesuit High School and USF. Go Bulls!. He is passionate about all things Tampa Bay. Kevin writes articles on the ongoing road projects around the Tampa Bay area, awards that Tampa Bay cities and businesses have won and country music happenings around the Bay area.
