Florida was just named as the second-best state to live in according to a study from WalletHub. So why did Florida rank so high and why wasn’t it the top state? So the study from Wallet looked at the best states to live in for 2024. They ranked all 50 states on 51 items. Those items are affordability, economy, education and health, quality of life, and safety. The study also looks at housing costs, the education rate, and the quality of hospitals.
So Florida is the second best state to live in and they rank high in a few categories. The highest category that Florida ranks in is quality of life where they ranked as the 4th best state. They rank 11th in the economy and 24th in education and health. Finally, their affordability rank among the 50 states is 30th.
The Best State To Live In
The best state to live in is Massachusetts. Massachusetts ranks as the top state in education and health. Furthermore, they rank 6th in the quality of life and 15th in the economy category. Finally, they do rank low in affordability at 44th.

While Massachusetts is the best state to live in of course there is a worst state to live in. According to this list, the worst state to live in in the United States is Louisiana. Louisiana ranks 50 out of the 50 states in economy. They also rank 48th in education and health, and 37th in quality of life. The highest drinking they have is in the affordability category where they rank 23rd out of 50 states.
Obviously I wish Florida was the best state to live in, but being second isn’t so bad. Although, as Talladega Nights famously said, “If you ain’t first, you’re last.”
