Florida’s Most Up And Coming Cities
Many Florida cities aren’t considered major cities. These are smaller, but people still want to move to them. MoneyGeek did a study about the small cities around the country that are up and coming.
They looked at these cities because there are economic advantages of living in smaller cities. There is a lower cost of living and you’ll have the lifestyle benefits of urban proximity and recreation. So the way that money came up with this list is they looked at growth and prosperity indicators of 211 cities with populations from 63,000 to 100,000. They also found that the cities at the top of the list were here in Florida. Also, they found that people moving to the small cities are actually staying there and putting up roots.
The #1 overall city is North Port which is on the Gulf Coast of Florida. It has seen 28% in population growth and 43% in housing units since 2017. Additionally, they found that the median income is 78,$587 which is up 46%.
Below you will find the list of the 10 most up-and-coming small cities for financial prosperity according to MoneyGeek. Yes, there are a lot of Florida cities in the top 10.
The Top 10 Up And Coming Cities
1. North Port, Florida
2. New Braunfels, Texas
3. Tamarac, Florida
4. Georgetown, Texas
5. Boynton Beach, Florida
6. Deerfield Beach, Florida
7. South Jordan, Utah
8. Fort Myers, Florida
9. Palm Coast, Florida
10. Homestead, Florida
So if my math is correct, there are seven Florida cities in the top 10. There was another part of the study that found that Kissimmee, Florida is the top small city in attracting newcomers. They ranked first in net migration, and #31 in a five-year housing unit change. I do love that Florida is getting some recognition for their small cities, but will this cause the small cities to not become small cities anymore? That remains to be seen and hopefully, these cities can remain the way they have been and loved by so many.
