Tom Brady’s quarterback sneaks help Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Tom Brady, our recently retired quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, had a difficult season both personally and professionally. However, amid the chaos, he found solace in an unexpected place – the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. With the help of Logan Ryan, a Bucs safety and longtime animal welfare activist, Brady and his two youngest children would visit the four-story facility two or three times a month, arriving in his pickup truck.
Despite being one of the world’s most well-known football players, Brady requested anonymity and would wear a baseball cap to avoid being recognized by fans. He and his children would spend hours assisting the tenants, walking, cleaning, or socializing with them. Few people knew about their visits, and the family’s altruism was conducted in the shadows.
The Humane Society of Tampa Bay houses over 13,000 animals annually, and during the summer, the facility can have up to 300-400 kittens in foster homes. Brady caught wind of the organization’s needs when he saw Ryan participating in a promotion about pet adoption last summer at the Bucs’ AdventHealth Training Center. He then asked Ryan if his kids could be involved, and soon enough, they were visiting the facility and working alongside the staff, getting their hands dirty and making a positive impact in the animals’ lives.

Brady announced his retirement from the NFL on February 1st, but his philanthropy has been widespread throughout his career.
