Florida Diver’s Hunt For Shark Teeth Uncovers Gigantic Megalodon Treasure
Florida Diver’s Hunt for Shark Teeth Uncovers Gigantic Megalodon Treasure. Michael Nastasio, a dedicated charter captain and experienced diver, has been on the hunt for shark teeth in Venice since 2011. Despite a slow start to his recent dive, Nastasio remained determined to find something special.
We’ve all been there hunting for Shark’s Teeth, right? If not, you need to go. It’s fun, and easy to find teeth during the right tide on the big sand bar. You just have to stick with it. After about 30 minutes of swimming without much success, he stumbled upon a remarkable sight that would change everything.
With just a couple of kicks, Nastasio found himself face-to-face with an astonishing treasure—a massive megalodon tooth! In Nastasio’s own words, “I made like two kicks and the tooth was looking straight at me. My mind was just blown.”
Measuring an impressive 6 inches in length, this megalodon tooth is an incredibly rare find for the Venice area. We’re talkin about a Colossal Prehistoric Predator. According to the esteemed Smithsonian Institution, the megalodon is the largest shark ever known to have roamed the world’s oceans. This ancient giant lived approximately 23 to 3.6 million years ago. Scientists associated with the Smithsonian Institution have made intriguing discoveries regarding megalodon nursery habitats. These have been found in various locations, including Florida, Panama, Maryland, and the Canary Islands.
This Florida Diver’s Hunt led to a remarkable discovery. It not only captivates the imagination but also adds valuable knowledge to our understanding of the prehistoric world. While the megalodon’s reign may be a thing of the past, its tooth serves as a fascinating reminder of the awe-inspiring creatures that once dominated the seas. Imagine bumping in to one of those big boys on a Paddleboard or Surboard! TBT
