So, thanks for being mindful and watch for them on the beach.
I love our beaches, and every living thing on them, don’t you? Check out the Black Skimmers nesting areas on Redington Beach. These guys tend to come back to the same area every year. Some are “banded” so volunteers can report activity year-round.
The ritual includes the males bringing a “fish dinner” to the lady he’s tryin to … um, impress. And if and when she takes the fish, we have a love connection. Seagulls stay close by and swoop in occasionally. They are “the enemy” trying to steal eggs, and fish and – it looks like a Star Wars battle.
