Macy’s Is Closing 125 Stores And Cutting 2,000 Corporate Jobs
Macy’s announced on Tuesday that they are closing 125 stores and they are also cutting 2,000 corporate jobs. The stores that are being closed are their least productive stores and they are trying to reinvent its itself for online shopping. They are also testing a new smaller-store format that’s located at a strip center, instead of a mall. The closures represent about one fifth of Macy’s current total and there is no word on how many of those stores will be closed in the Tampa Bay area.
