Express Stores Closing In Tampa
Store Closing black on yellow letters on a white cladded industrial building, Melbourne 2016
After the announcement that Express will be filing for bankruptcy, there will now be a couple Express stores closing in Tampa. Bad news for those of us who love Express clothing. I’ve been shopping at Express for years so I was sad to hear about the news of the company. The closures include 16 locations in California, 11 in New York and seven in New Jersey. According to the filing, there are at least five Florida Express retail stores set to close. Store-closing sales will begin as soon as today, Tuesday, April 23rd.
They also announced that all 10 of its UpWest stores would close, but there are no physical stores located in Florida.
What Express Stores Are Closing In Florida.
Express stated that it will be closing 95 stores. It operates over 500 in the U.S. As of right now, 5 of those stores are located in Florida. Two of those are located right here in our area. The Express stores closing in Tampa:
- Citrus Park Town Center, 8021 Citrus Park, Tampa
- Countryside Mall, 27001 U.S. Highway 19 N, Clearwater
Other stores closing in Florida:
- Bayside, 401 Biscayne Blvd., Miami
- Aventura Mall, 19501 Biscayne Blvd., Aventura
- Lincoln Road, 904 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach
The company says it will continue to serve customers at its stores and online across its Express, Bonobos and UpWest brands.
We hate to see stores close, but honestly, I was in Express in Brandon over the weekend and it was almost depressing walking in there. I remember getting so excited to go into that store years ago, but it’s just not the same anymore. Shopping at any store inside a mall is different since a majority of people shop online these days. For those of us who still like to try on clothes, it’s almost a chore now instead of a fun day of shopping.
With the closing of stores, that means Express shoppers will be able to score deals when closing sales begin today. So, if you want to grab some deals, today is the day to get to either of the Citrus Park location or the Clearwater location. After the closures, the company said it should be “business as usual.”
This year has already seen several big businesses closing due to losses and declining sales. In February, Macy’s announced it would close 150 stores over the next three years. That same month, the parent company of Outback Steakhouse announced that it closed dozens of locations across the country. Recently, Tijuana Flats also just announced it would close 11 of it’s locations.

5 Country Songs That Will Make You Want To Go Shopping
Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, it’s officially time to shop, in stores or online. The Christmas holiday is less than one month away, and we’ve got to get the right gifts to the right folks in our lives.
Country music items are always a go-to for the country music lovers on your Christmas list. It’s always nice to have the CMA Awards happen in November, just before the shopping season starts. It gets us all excited for our country music favorites each year.
After this year’s CMAs, fans are undoubtedly looking for country music related gift items from big winners like Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, etc.
Jelly even kicked off November with a Toy Drive for his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. He told us backstage at the CMAs the night he won New Artist of the Year, “I’m from Nashville, Tennessee. I grew up here, and I really take a lot of pride in that; it means a lot to me. I’ve watched this town grow so much; it’s been incredible, and my spirit is always to give back. Who would I be if I was so blessed and not turn around and try to be a blessing?”
And Lainey is already in the holiday spirit, having just appeared on an Elvis Christmas special where she performed at Graceland. She’s also set to perform on the upcoming CMA Country Christmas on ABC TV, which airs on December 14. Other performers on CMA Country Christmas this year are The War and Treaty, Joe Paradigm, Ashley McBryde, and Trisha Yearwood, who is hosting with Amy Grant.
Country music lyrics and shopping don’t really go hand in hand. However, we gathered five songs that make the two topics match a bit as we get into the biggest shopping season of the year.
