Here is why ice cream lovers need to head to Publix.  They just released 8 new flavors of ice cream and they sound delicious.  This is only for a limited time so you need to hurry in.  Ice cream is a favorite among so many for a tasty dessert or a way to cool off in the summer here in Tampa.  There are so many different flavors to choose from.  Many ice cream shops around the bay area have out of this world flavors, but now you don't need to travel to have a fun flavor.  Publix is now carrying some new flavors.

The limited-edition Vanilla Shortbread Cookie ice cream just hit shelves this week, alongside seven other returning flavors.  All eight seasonal flavors are available in Publix stores.

Bananas Foster - Banana-flavored ice cream with a brown sugar rum-flavored swirl

Black Swamp Raspberry Cheesecake - Raspberry cheesecake-flavored ice cream swirled with Mackinac chocolatey graham crust and raspberry-filled chocolatey cups sprinkled throughout

Irish Crème Salted Caramel - Irish crème-flavored ice cream with a rich caramel sea salt swirl and caramel truffles.

New Orleans Caramel Praline - Brown sugar ice cream with swirls of thick caramel and crunchy praline pecans.

Nuts About Pistachio - Pistachio ice cream loaded with pieces of real pistachios

Peanut Butter Pie - Peanut butter cheesecake-flavored ice cream with swirls of Mackinac peanut butter cookie ribbons and chocolate-flavored pieces

Strawberry Shortcake - Butter crème-flavored ice cream swirled with ribbons of chunky strawberry-flavored sauce and layered with squares of soft shortcake

Vanilla Shortbread Cookie - Vanilla ice cream with ground vanilla beans, vanilla anglaise custard swirls and shortbread squares throughout

This year, the limited-edition ice creams will only be available in half-gallon sizes.  Many look forward to the new flavors each season.  Publix also announced that new flavors will also be coming this summer.

According to the International Dairy Foods Association, ice cream makers churned out 1.38 billion gallons of ice cream, generating nearly 29,000 jobs and $1.8 billion in wages.

YouGov asked 1,000 U.S. adults about their favorite ice cream flavor, and many Americans ranked vanilla and chocolate at the top. Also at the top of the list were strawberry, cookies and cream, and chocolate chip.

The number one favorite ice cream is also my favorite, good ole fashioned vanilla.  59% of adults like it and 11 % say it is their favorite.

The most bizarre ice cream flavors people are eating.    It is super hot outside and a good way to cool down this summer is by eating Ice cream.  July is National Ice Cream month and typically, Vanilla is the most popular flavor followed by Chocolate, but there are some interesting flavors that are out there.

Firstly, Ice cream can be traced back as far as 3,000 BC to ancient China where crushed ice was flavored with fruit juices.  Second, It is said that explorer Marco Polo discovered their method and introduced the treat to Italy.   It was only in the 1700s when ice cream was introduced to America.  This delicacy was enjoyed by the rich.

Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry are the most favorite flavors.  But now you can find so many different flavors at the grocery store.  But we recently found some very strange and bizarre flavors that actually make us want to turn our heads.  The list came from an article on Cafemom,   If you’re feeling adventurous while traveling, look for these flavors.

Can you imagine eating ice cream called Squid Ink? Wonder if it's any good?  This blogger said it tastes like salted caramel and wasn't that bad.   It's found in Korea.

Ok, really?  Fish flavored gelato.  That doesn't even sound normal.  They have it in Australia.  The blogger said the gelato tastes nothing like fish and chips... More like milk gelato with batter crumbs.

I love corn on the cob, butter and salt, but how do you think its tastes as ice cream?  This video makes it look pretty good especially, with all the extra stuff around it.  I might try this one.

We all love pizza.  But would you like it on your ice cream?  They do in Philly.  Infuse fresh cream with tomato paste, basil, garlic, and oregano leaves.  Not sure that sounds appetizing. 

You like it on a salad, why not a cone?

Olives are fruits, so you're technically eating healthy.  In Italy they love this flavor.   Wonder if it pairs nicely with wine?

If you don't know what Haggis is, then you would probably like it.  Haggis is chopped up sheep innards.  They serve it up in the U.K.  Wonder how many people ate this without googling Haggis.

This is made with crocodile eggs and meat as part of its ingredients.  One review said it was good but a little chewy which was the crocodile meat.
