If you’re looking for a new career, you might want to consider one of these professions.  These top 5 jobs had the biggest pay hikes in 2023.  Meaning, all theses professions made more money while a lot of people saw pay decreases and cuts.  These professions are still in high demand and most of them cannot be replaced by technology.

Government data shows that even as people paid more for everything from groceries to rent, real weekly earnings for the typical U.S. worker rose 1.7% between 2019 and 2023.  Some jobs saw a strong wage increases over the last year.  If you’re thinking of starting a new career, these jobs seem to be strong in the workforce.   Here are 5 jobs with the biggest wage hike in 2023 compared with the prior year.   This is based on responses from more than 3,500 workers across 15 job titles.

Jobs With Biggest Pay Hikes

1. Assistant managers in customer service roles enjoyed the biggest median wage boosts last year.

2023 wage growth: 24%

Median pay: $44,200

 

2. Hairstylists were laid off during the pandemic. But demand for salon services surged after it ended.

2023 wage growth: 22%

Median pay: $34,300

 

3. Master plumbers another profession that enjoyed fast wage growth in 2023 as many Americans stopped doing their pandemic DIY projects.  Home improvement and maintenance projects has been on the rise in recent years.

2023 wage growth: 21%

Median pay: $82,700

 

4. Car technicians Demand for workers in the field is high as many Americans hold on to older cars, which require special care.

2023 wage growth: 21%

Median pay: $52,100

 

5. Fitness Coach  – COVID-19 encouraged many Americans take their health more seriously.  There is always a number of  people who simply want to shed extra pounds.

2023 wage growth: 19%

Median pay: $51,100
