The Dog Breeds Floridians Love The Most
A list of the dog breeds that Floridians love the most has come out. Forbes asked 10,000 dog owners about what their favorite dog breed is. The findings were to try to find that favorite dog breed in America. What’s interesting that is that the results show that ‘no breed in particular’ is the favorite overall at 13%. The breed that actually comes in number one is the Australian Shepherd with 7.2%. The findings also show that 2/3 of households in the United States, have a dog 85% also consider their pets to be part of their family. The favorite breed of dog in the state of Florida is the Bernese Mountain dog. The interesting part about the Bernese Mountain dog is that it came in fifth of the breed of dog that is the most favorite.
Here is what Forbes says about the Bernese Mountain dog, “The Bernese mountain dog is a hearty working dog that’s easy to train and intelligent. This large breed can be up to 27.5 inches tall and weigh as much as 115 pounds. The Bernese mountain dog’s coat is typically black, brown and white, with long, silky hair. The AKC recommends prospective Bernese mountain dog owners to request tests of the hips and elbows, as well as a degenerative myelopathy test and cardiac exam, before bringing a pup home from a breeder.”
Additionally, nine states ranked the Bernese Mountain dog as their favorite breed of dog. On the flip side, there were 10 states that ranked the Bernese mountain dog in their bottom 10 Nevada actually ranked it as their least favorite dog breed.

It’s time to close the chapter to 2023 and look forward to the next year. Luckily for us in Tampa, there’s a lot to be excited about in 2024. Be on the lookout for these new businesses and experiences in Tampa Bay next year.
Champa Bay seems to be growing and expanding more and more each year. So many new places and experiences popped up in 2023, and it was hard to keep track. We discovered a bunch of new restaurants, hotels, and adventures that opened up this past year. 2024 might be even better! We get to look forward to new restaurants and bars, roller coasters, and so many big acts playing Tampa venues (just to name a few). 2023 in review:
Tampa had a lot of growth in 2023, leaving us excited for what’s to come. This year we said “hello” to many new businesses and attractions including the tallest rooftop bar in Tampa, new restaurants with Michelin-star chefs, changes to our favorite theme park, and more. We also said “goodbye” to some of our favorite businesses and athletes who got traded to other teams (like Pat Maroon on the Tampa Bay Lightning and Ji-man Choi on the Rays).
