Photo Shows Two People Hanging Onto Capsized Boat Near Gandy Bridge
There was a capsized boat near the Gandy Bridge recently. Check out the photo that shows two people hanging on to that boat. The United States Coast Guard Southeast posted a picture of the capsized boat where they say they rescued two mariners after their 15 foot boat capsized off the Gandy Bridge. The two people were safely transported to the Gandy boat ramp. No injuries were reported to either person.
On their post that shared a link that shows many boating safety courses. On that page they say, “Many boating safety courses are offered throughout the country, for all types of recreational boaters, and for boaters of all ages. Qualified volunteer organizations, such as the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, U.S. Power Squadron, and others sponsor many courses, and many state boating agencies also provide classes. Courses cover many aspects of boating safety, from boat handling to reading the weather, and from a “Water ‘N Kids” class to courses for boaters who want to learn electronic navigation skills. The most popular basic courses generally have from 6 to 13 lessons to provide a foundation of operational and safety instruction.”
Along with a Coast Guard, a team from the Eckerd College Search and Rescue in St. Pete was also involved in the rescue. Check out the photo of two people hanging onto a capsized boat near Gandy Bridge below.
