Indian Rocks Musician Chose Team Blake On The Voice
If you have listened to live music near Madeira Beach or Indian Rocks Beach in the last couple years you are probably familiar with the name Alex Whalen. He has played in bars like The Saltwater Hippie and the Brass Captain. Don’t let his appearance fool you. He may look like a Florida man but Alex is actually from London, but is currently residing in the Tampa Bay area. Last night this Indian Rocks musician chose Team Blake on The Voice after auditioning with a Sammi Smith cover. Whalen earned two chair turns during his “Help Me Make It Through The Night” audition. One from Chance The Rapper and the other from Blake Shelton. By the style of his singing and the sound of his voice, his choice was pretty clear, Blake would be the best coach for him.
Blake actually noted that this is the first country artists that he’s worked with that’s from the U.K., pretty cool!
Check out his audition in the video below. Alex has 995 QYK’s vote what about yours?
J.R. and Launa's Top 5 Videos from the Blake Shelton Show
Blake Shelton performed at Amalie Arena to packed house. J.R. and Launa were in attendance and they share the top 5 videos from the Blake Shelton show.
Tampa Bay’s Morning Krewe talked to Blake’s opener, Carly Pearce, last week and wanted to know if Gwen was going to be at the show. She told them that she knew she was showing up, but wouldn’t tell us if Gwen was going to be at the Tampa show. Well, Gwen was there! She performed her song “Don’t Speak”. Gwen also teamed up with Blake to perform “Nobody But You” and “Happy Anywhere”.
Blake also said that he has been working on his guitar work before playing “Sweet Home Alabama” a little out of tune. Carly Pearce and Jackson Dean opened for Blake at Amalie Arena. Jackson performed at our QYK Guitar Pull last November. It was great to see Jackson with the full band behind him at the show.
Blake announced that this will be his last season on The Voice. He has been a judge on the show since the very first season. The show is now in its 23rd Season.
