You may have a penny worth $1 million in your piggy bank. Yes, $1 million. These pennies have been stamped twice during the minting process. They also have been in circulation, so you could have one. The pennies are from 1958 and are rare “doubled die”. The pennies have severe doubling of letters in the motto IN GOD WE TRUST and the word LIBERTY on the front of the coin.
Now, only three on the pennies are known, but you never know there could be more. One recently sold for $1.136 million through an auction. A $1 million penny is real.
Coin collectors are in search of double pennies and many are being sold on eBay, but not for $1 million. Those are going for a few thousand dollars.
